The more information you provide, the more first responders will know if they need to assist you in an emergency. At minimum, your address (home and school), your physical description, and a recent photo are great places to start.
If you have a particular health issue or other personal safety concern, you can include that information as well.
Users should only provide as much information as they are comfortable sharing.
Anyone in your contact list can be your guardian as long as they have downloaded the app and you've added them to your guardian list. Guardians can be a friend, family member, room mate, or Campus Safety.
Data within your Rave Guardian profile is stored privately and securely with Rave Mobile Safety's redundant and geographically diverse databases.
Rave Guardian cannot be used to locate you without your knowledge. Your profile and location (if you have enabled location services within the app) are only available to Campus Safety when your safety timer expires, when you send a non-anonymous crime tip, or when you call the UI Police Department using the panic button feature on the app.
You need to enable location services within the app for it to work properly in an emergency.
Campus Safety will only be notified of your timer expiring if you select "Hawk Watch" as your primary or secondary guardian when using the safe walk feature.
The app will remind you to turn off your safety timer a few minutes before it expires.
The features of the app will work off campus. However, if you have an emergency at an off-campus location you should call 911. The tip feature is for the UI campus locations only.
All tips are automatically set to be anonymous unless the user un-checks the “make anonymous” box before sending in the tip. You can include photos and videos with your tip.
