Effective Jan 1, 2025, colleges and universities are required to begin collecting hazing statistics to include in the annual security report.
This update comes following passage of the Stop Campus Hazing Act, which was signed into law on Dec. 23, 2024. The bill expands on the Clery Act's foundation to address hazing.
In addition to fraternities and sororities, this update would apply to clubs, teams, and any group that could be considered an organization where membership is maintained.
For a full Clery definition of hazing, read the definitions section of our website.
Hazing statistics will first be included in the 2026 annual security report (2025 statistics).
Reporting
Reports can be made to the Clery Compliance Officer by completing a Campus Security Report Form.
If you are a CSA and have any questions about your responsibilities or would like to discuss the specifics of an incident, please feel free to contact the Office of Clery Compliance at: 319-335-5802.
