Register your bike on campus to help prevent theft

Registering your bike makes it easier for you to file a police report if your bike is stolen, and easier for law enforcement to return it to you if it is located. A series of registration events will be hosted on the UI Health Care University Campus over the next few months.

Campus Safety Advisory: Animal Bite

Campus Safety wants community members to be aware that UI Police responded to an animal bite report on the west side of campus on Monday, May 20. The victim told police she was walking along the Mormon Handcart Trail, 116 Hawkeye Court, at approximately 4 p.m. when she felt something biting her ankle. The victim then turned around and discovered it looked like a coyote. The animal lunged at the victim and began to bite and scratch, causing injuries.

Campus Safety adds 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline decals to Squad Cars

The University of Iowa is among the first Big Ten universities to add 988 to its campus safety vehicles. The new decals feature the national suicide and crisis lifeline number, which offers those in crisis a direct and confidential connection to trained counselors who can provide immediate assistance.

Update: Cause of Iowa Raptor Project Fire remains undetermined

Because the fire had completely consumed the four impacted mews (a type of enclosure) when the first fire department arrived on scene, investigators could not determine the origin of the fire or any potential cause.
