Crime Alert: Burglary

In the interest of campus safety, we want everyone to be aware of two separate burglary incidents reported to the University of Iowa Police Department. There were no signs of forced entry, and these incidents remain under investigation.

Update: Fire response to IATL

An investigation determined that radiant heat from the sun reflecting onto the stainless-steel exterior caused the underlayment materials to smolder. The area has been covered with a nonreflective material as a temporary measure, and regular visual inspections will continue until more permanent solutions are put in place.

Crime Alert: Sexual Assault

In the interest of campus safety, we want everyone to be aware that University of Iowa officials received a report of fondling, a form of sexual assault, that occurred near the top floor of the North Campus parking ramp on Saturday, Aug. 26 just after 10 p.m. According to the report, a man split from the group he was walking with, grabbed the person, and touched their crotch area. The reporting party yelled loudly and was able to get away.

In the interest of campus safety, we want everyone to be aware that University of Iowa officials received a report of a sexual assault that occurred during the late-night hours on Thursday, Aug. 24 at a fraternity. The assault was reportedly perpetrated by an acquaintance.
