With winter weather returning to Iowa City, the university is reminding students how weather-related decisions are made and communicated.

Due to the winter storm warning impacting our area beginning this evening and expected hazardous conditions through Sunday morning, Nite Ride service will be suspended through the duration of the Winter Storm Warning (Friday, Nov. 28 through Sunday morning, Nov. 30).

A small fire at Daum Residence Hall, 225 N. Clinton St., prompted an evacuation during the early morning hours on Thursday, Nov. 6. No injuries were reported, but some residents were temporarily displaced due to water damage caused by the building's sprinkler system. As of this morning, all students have been able to return to their rooms aside from the unit directly affected by the fire.
